Dr Panos Hahamis reflects on the future trajectory of digitisation of services in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
About this talk
The COVID-19 pandemic has fundamentally changed the way we live, work and socialise, putting digital technologies at the forefront by accelerating many long-standing trends.
From working from home, to how we meet with friends and family virtually, to the digital transformation of services provided by governments, including the health sector, we have all responded (and adapted) in unexpected and innovative ways. Video conferencing platforms provided by various companies for example, saw a meteoric rise in their use, with Zoom alone rocketing both in users and sales.
All of these software companies are already looking for continued growth beyond the pandemic as workplaces take on a new definition. The same is happening with governments which had to react quickly to new requirements (and restrictions) by working on, and implementing new digital modules on their government portals.
The talk will be followed by a short Q&A session.
