About the Event
Poet, performer and life coach Patricia Foster McKenley, who at the intersection of being Black, a woman, Christian, over fifty years of age and British of Jamaican heritage, shares her personal experiences, as well as her writing and coping methods, during the Covid pandemic and rise in global Black trauma.
She will also discuss how this intense period powerfully and profoundly informed her writing, invariably uncovering her own intersectionality and place in society. The discussion will be followed by a Q&A session.

Patricia Foster McKenley
Patricia is an award-winning poet, writer, performer, qualified life coach, certified tutor/facilitator, education consultant and IT trainer.
She was Sable Poet-in-Residence 2014-17, featured poet at Mboka Festival (Gambia) 2017 & 2019, 'At The Inkwell London' host 2016-17, is an Inscribe contracted writer and a 'Malika’s Poetry Kitchen’ alumni.
Born in Lewisham, London, her writing is inspired by her Jamaican British heritage and champions women and survivors. Patricia is published in anthologies and publications in UK, Norway and the USA. Performed in Netherlands, Norway, USA, Jamaica, Belgium and Gambia. Has toured UK, Europe and Chicago.
In 2013, released her first poetry / motivational film ‘LIPS'. Patricia is also a certified Reiki practitioner, wellbeing advisor, vegan and lover of raw vegan food. A life coach to artists and has worked as a workshop facilitator for: BBC & British Library (2006), Every Woman Inspired women’s conference (Jamaica) and international universities and schools.
Patricia's dynamic, empathic, creative and supportive approach to educating, training, literature and improving lives, has empowered learners of all ages and seekers of an enhanced way of living life.
