About the event

Hosted by the Global Diplomacy Initiative and the MA Diplomacy & Global Politics program at the University of Westminster, this event will explore the crucial role of women in shaping global diplomacy and leadership. Hear from influential female diplomats as they share their experiences, challenges, and the future of diplomacy in today's world.

Meet Our Panel:

H.E. Josefa González-Blanco: Ambassador of México to the United Kingdom, Permanent Representative to the International Maritime Organization, Former Secretary of Environment & Natural Resources of México, President of London’s Women in Diplomacy Network, promoter of social, environmental, & cultural programmes with an extensive career in environmental protection & wildlife conservation.

Ms. Elisabeth Bowes: Deputy High Commissioner of Australia to the United Kingdom, Senior Career Officer of theDepartment of Foreign Affairs and Trade, previously served as First Assistant Secretary and Chief Negotiator in the Free Trade Agreements and Stakeholder Engagement Division, also served as legal officer in UN organisations in Geneva and Hamburg.

Ms. Lynessa Griffith: Former Cultural Attaché at the Embassy of Grenada to the Russian Federation from 2019 to 2021, served as Sustainable Development Movement Ambassador for the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States, PhD candidate in International Politics at City St. Georges University of London, focusing on women in diplomacy.

Professor Nitasha Kaul: Chair in Politics, International Relations, & Critical Interdisciplinary Studies, Director of the Centre for the Study of Democracy (CSD), multidisciplinary academic, novelist, economist, poet, and public intellectual. She has designed and leads the MA teaching on "Diplomacy, Global Crises, and Challenges" at Westminster.
