Open to all Social Sciences staff and students.
Event
According to the global wellness institute, the extremely poorly defined construct of wellness is worth up to £2.8 trillion worldwide. The individual and organisational focus on wellness (very often conflated with the slightly more robustly defined concept of well-being), is not going away any time soon. Unfortunately, the rise of the Instagram influencer and Tik-Tok guru has left the pursuit of psychological well-being as a potentially evidence-sparse endeavour. This, together with the pervasive “grind culture” which promotes productivity and achievement as the path to personal well-being, has created a culture in which burnout and associated mental health issues are on the rise.
