Why hire a Student Ambassador?
Engaging Student Ambassadors offers numerous benefits for your department or project:
- Authentic representation: Ambassadors offer a genuine perspective of student life, bridging the gap between prospective students and the university. Their firsthand experiences make them credible and relatable representatives of the university community.
- Energy and fresh perspectives: Student Ambassadors infuse events and initiatives with youthful energy and innovative ideas. Their enthusiasm can help elevate the quality of your project and create a more engaging experience for all participants.
- Effective peer engagement: As current students, Ambassadors can connect with their peers in a way that fosters trust and a sense of belonging. Their involvement can significantly enhance the impact of your student-focused activities.
- Skill development: All Ambassadors undergo comprehensive training in communication, leadership, customer service, and university values. This ensures they are well-prepared to meet the needs of your department while also growing their own professional skills.
- Flexible workforce: Ambassadors offer flexibility and can be mobilised for a range of tasks, from supporting large-scale events to providing guided campus tours. This adaptability makes them an ideal resource for various departmental needs.
How can a Student Ambassador support your department?
Student Ambassadors can be utilised in a variety of roles to enhance your department’s initiatives:
- Event support: Whether it's an open day, student fair, conference, or workshop, Ambassadors can help with the planning, organization, and execution of university events. They can manage registration desks, direct attendees, provide information, and ensure that your event runs smoothly.
- Campus tours: Ambassadors are trained to offer engaging and informative tours of the campus, sharing their personal experiences and insights about university life. These tours are valuable for prospective students and their families, providing them with a real sense of what to expect.
- Student engagement: In addition to event support, Ambassadors can assist with student engagement activities such as orientation programs, peer mentoring, and student panels. Their involvement can help new students feel welcomed and integrated into the university community.
- Academic support: Ambassadors can be assigned to support academic departments with tasks such as assisting in workshops, providing lab demonstrations, and helping with tutoring sessions. Their presence can enhance the learning environment and provide additional support to both staff and students.
- Outreach activities: Represent the university at external events such as school visits, higher education fairs, and community outreach programs. Ambassadors can share information about the university, answer questions, and promote the university to potential applicants.
