Welcome to your course

Welcome to the University of Westminster, the School of Computer Science and Engineering, and welcome to your new course.

We have arranged several events for you during induction week, as part of your process of becoming a student on the course at the University. We strongly advise you to attend all of these events as they have been designed to give you more information about your course, to familiarise you with the University's procedures, rules and regulations, the available University facilities, and to help you gain the most from your life as a University of Westminster student.

You will start by undertaking an induction week. It is advised that you attend all events to ensure that you receive all the required information prior to the start of teaching. You will also have opportunity to become familiar with the School environment, meet your course team, and also your fellow students.

We understand that starting a new degree programme can be both exciting and daunting. However, be assured you that you are not alone. We are here to guide you and provide you with the support you need to succeed.

As part of your induction and to complete your enrolment, you'll need to collect your student ID card.

Blackboard is our online learning platform, which you'll be able to log in to after you've set up your University email address and password.

Equipment and materials

While you can borrow laptops through the University for 24 hours, it's better to have your own. If you're not sure what to buy, our technical support team can advise you one you've enrolled. You'll be eligible for a student discount on computer purchases.
