International Relations and Security MA induction schedule

Welcome to your course

We are delighted to welcome you to the International Relations and Security MA degree at the School of Social Sciences, and congratulations for enrolling on this exciting programme.

Welcome to the School of Social Sciences

We provide an inclusive experience for all of our students, who are a vital part of our vibrant and dynamic community. Our School brings together subject areas of Psychology, Criminology, Politics and International Relations and Sociology.

Joining one of our courses, you will become part of a dynamic community motivated by intellectual curiosity and the pursuit of social justice. You will be taught by active and award-winning researchers whose books and articles make ground breaking discoveries and contribute to a better understanding of how our societies works. The teaching team are widely recognised as providing excellent support to our students, and you will be trained in critical thinking and research skills that will set you up for your professional future.

Induction Week marks the beginning of your future at the University. There are lots of events designed to help you get a great start: you will meet your tutors and your student mentors (FANS), choose the options for your course, and get advice on all aspects of student life. You will be able to explore the University, meet other new students, and make your first friends (a really important part of being a student!). By the end of Induction Week you will have everything you need to start your classes. We hope you will have had some fun too! We cannot wait to meet you, as you begin your journey with us.
