Leading International Projects

Overview

Course summary

This course explores the many challenges faced by international project leaders – including those working on international development projects – and helps them to gain the skills to drive a successful business strategy. It covers contemporary topics such as AI, sustainability and Virtual Reality (VR) in learning.

Leading an international project – whether that is implementing a clean water system in a developing country or managing the construction of a skyscraper in Paris – requires an in-depth knowledge of macro-environmental, economic, cultural and political factors. On this course you will investigate these challenges and learn about the theory and practice of managing international projects successfully.

You will look at how global supply chains are affecting international projects, issues around culture shock, and contemporary best practice in sustainability and AI. You will also study the principles of international development projects and how to manage risk in these projects.

Based in central London, the course is taught by tutors and external speakers with extensive experience of leading international projects. It includes a networking dinner at Westminster House of Parliament and a trip to the venue for the London 2012 Olympic Games as an example of a mega international project. You will study alongside a diverse group of delegates from organisations and NGOs around the world, providing you with a valuable professional network for the future.

Who is the course aimed at?

  • Existing or aspiring project managers working on large or mega projects, or those with an international dimension
  • People working on international development projects
