Dr Mariko Yasu

I joined the University of Westminster as a Lecturer of Finance and Financial Markets for Westminster Business School in September 2023, after two years as an assistant professor at Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan. I completed my PhD in management at the University of Edinburgh in 2021 with a dissertation focusing on the economic implications of corporate governance reforms. Before my academic career, I was a business journalist at Bloomberg News.

My research interests are in the area of corporate governance, corporate ownership structure, corporate innovation, corporate communications and firm value.
