About me
Deltcho Vitchev (MScEng, MIoD) is Director of Renaissance Finance International ltd, which he joined after a long career as a Principal Banker at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. He is a business and finance specialist with engineering background and more than 30 years of experience with International Financial Institutions, project finance, project development and implementation, appraisal and funding work in Central and Eastern Europe, Asia and Africa. He has advised a number of governmental, public, private and international organisations, including the United Nations and the European Union on financial matters related to energy, environment and nuclear safety.
The projects he has worked on range from a nuclear power plant in Bulgaria to a geothermal power plant in Russia and span from Eastern Europe to Indonesia and now Africa, and include projects in power and energy, oil refining and plastics, metallurgy, water treatment, construction, renewables and energy efficiency and bio-fuels.
Teaching
In recognition of his international expertise in implementing international projects he was appointed a Fellow of the Law School of University of Westminster and leads a module on International Project Finance. He has been a visiting professor at the Swiss International Banking School in Basle and lectured in a number of institutions in the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Russia and Bulgaria.
