About me
I qualified as a solicitor in 1991 and then worked in the voluntary sector - at North Kensington Law Centre, Shelter and more recently at ATLEU (the Anti Trafficking and Labour Exploitation Unit)). After starting out in juvenile crime and civil actions against the police I then specialised in housing law, asylum support and human rights.
I graduated with a BA (Hons) Law degree from The University of Kent at Canterbury.
I have been involved in various forums, including the Law Society’s Housing Law Committee and the Executive Board of the Housing Law Practitioners' Association.
I am a co-author of the Housing Law Casebook, 5th edition published by the Legal Action Group, 2012.
Teaching
I teach skills (Practical Legal Research, Writing and Advocacy), Civil Litigation and Housing on the Legal Practice Course (LPC) and the Masters in Law (MLaw) course.
Research
My research interests are in housing law, civil litigation and access to justice.
