About me

Karen Joined the Department of Psychology in 2005 and gained extensive teaching experience on a number of undergraduate modules. Additionally, Karen was an Associate lecturer for the Open University from 2008-10. Karen has been involved in the University of Westminster's summer school programmes as co-module leader for The Psychology of City Life. In 2011 she became joint module leader for the core level 4 module, Developmental Psychology. She also leads modules on the Foundation pathway and  on the MSc Psychology. Karen has undertaken the PGCHE and holds MA in Higher Education.

Teaching

Social Psychology, Advanced Social Psychology, Developmental Psychology, The History and Philosophy of Psychology, Research Methods in Psychology, Counselling Psychology and Clinical Psychology

Research

Karen has gained considerable research experience in qualitative methodologies for the Learning and Teaching Research Group on projects related to student experiences, learning styles, student's reflections on their feedback. She organised focus groups for the university's Digital Literacy project, and in 2010 Karen was project researcher for the WEX funded project "Extending and Enhancing Placement Learning" which examined the benefits and the transformational processes that students experience while participating in course related work experience. More recently, Karen worked on a consultancy basis for the Greater London Authority developing an evaluation framework for the London Healthy Workplace Charter.
