About me
I am a Senior Lecturer in the Centre for Education and Teaching Innovation. I have previously taught in Turkey, Germany and Poland and have substantial experience teaching ESP within a variety of companies and organisations in Germany and EAP at Wroclaw University in Poland and various universities in the UK.
Teaching
I currently lecture on the Academic Language for Disciplinary Study modules, and also on the Introduction to Academic Practice and Critical Thinking for Professional and Academic Development modules on the Foundation Pathways course. I also teach on the EAP pre-sessional course throughout the summer and run the pre-sessional teacher observation programme. I am the module leader for the Business Communication Skills for the London Business Workshop (for ICC students) and the Study Skills component (for Study Abroad students). I am also a supervisor of e-portfolios for the Fellowship of the HEA and dissertations for the M.A. TESOL and M.A. English Language courses. In addition, I am the External Examiner for all EAP provision at the University of Worcester.
Research
My most recent publication was entitled 'Facilitating the Acquisition of Critical Writing Skills? An exploration of Pedagogical Practices within a new university in the UK.' and I have recently co-authored an article entitled 'a comparative case study of pedagogical practices in EAP to facilitating the acquisition of critical academic writing skills in the UK and Uzbekistan.' I am currently a co-editor of a publication, global in scope, focusing on how pedagogical practices in teaching Academic English during the pandemic may transform future teaching practice.
