About me
In her current role as a Lecturer at the University of Westminster, Sheema holds significant teaching responsibilities. She serves as the Course Leader for the MSc in Big Data Technologies program, overseeing the curriculum design, delivery, and overall management of the postgraduate program. Additionally, Sheema leads the Business Analytics module for postgraduate students, imparting knowledge and skills in this critical domain. Her teaching portfolio encompasses modules focused on Business Optimization, Data Warehousing, and Business Intelligence, which are essential areas in the field of data science and analytics. Through her diverse teaching assignments, Sheema contributes to the development of competent professionals equipped with cutting-edge knowledge and practical skills in data-driven decision-making and leveraging big data technologies.
Sheema completed her B.E. in Information Science and Engineering in 2013 and worked as a Business Intelligence Analyst for a few years before pursuing an MSc in Business Analytics. She has a PhD in Operational Research from the University of Kent.
Research
Sheema's research and engagement activities are highlighted by her role as the primary investigator for two impactful collaborative research projects with NHS organizations. One of these projects involved a comprehensive evaluation and improvement initiative for a Primary Care Mental Health Service operating across West Kent. In this project, Sheema developed a innovative multi-methodology framework that seamlessly integrated qualitative and quantitative Operational Research techniques, specifically designed to support and enhance service planning processes.
Sheema possesses the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with crucial stakeholders within the healthcare industry. She leverages her extensive expertise in Operational Research methodologies to address complex challenges. Furthermore, Sheema has a proven track record of delivering actionable insights that drive positive transformations, ultimately leading to enhanced quality of care delivery.
