Senior Lecturer, EDI Lead in School of Management and Marketing
Background
My background and training is in the area of Business Psychology. I am in the School of Management and Marketing and lead modules on Leadership at levels 5 and 6; and Organisational Behaviour at level 4 on BABM Marketing courses.
My interest is in the application of academic and theoretical knowledge to practical situations. As such I have taught and worked in industry, side by side. I have been teaching and developing curricula in various Higher Educational establishments for over 25 years. I have worked extensively in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. In addition, I have also formed and run three companies, working with Small and Medium Enterprises to improve and enhance their leadership and people-skills. My work has focussed on Stress Management and Well Being and I am an accredited Coach and Mindfulness (MBSR) certified practitioner.
As EDI lead my focus is on raising awareness, decolonising the curriculum, closing the BAME Award Gap and to improve opportunities for students and staff of Black heritage and other protected characteristics.
Teaching
Westminster Business School
I am module leader at levels 4,5 and 6 and have a passion for teaching and developing students as well as preparing them for future graduate opportunities as potential leaders. As such my teaching focus is on building competencies which allow students to navigate the ever changing nature of work.
Research
My research interests are in the area of EDI. I have set up a number of projects which aim to Give Voice and build confidence in previously oppressed groups such as those of a Black heritage as well as other protected characteristics.
