- Centre for the Study of the Production of the Built Environment
About me
I am a research associate at the Centre for the Study of the Production of the Built Environment (ProBE), a joint research centre between Westminster Business School and the School of Architecture and Cities at the University of Westminster. I joined the University of Westminster in 2019 to begin my doctoral studies on the relevance of global framework agreements for labour agency and transnational environmental regulation, and completed my PhD in 2023.
Prior to my doctoral studies, I worked as a legal and policy advisor for a non-profit organisation based in Luxembourg whose role is to represent workers’ interests in the national legislative process. Alongside this work, I also carried out short-term research projects for a research institute based in Brussels. I hold a BA in International Law and Foreign Languages from the University of Nantes (France) and an MA in Employment Law from the Institute of Labour Studies in Lyon (France).
Teaching
I taught Employment law seminars to third year Human Resources Management students, and was invited as a guest lecturer as part of a module on Policy, Governance and Democracy at masters level. I am an associate fellow of the HEA.
Research
My research focuses on labour environmentalism and how workers' collective action and organisation at different scales intersect with environmental law and policy making, as well as environmental practices. As part of my doctoral and post-doctoral studies, I analyse the relevance of environmental provisions in Global Framework Agreements for labour agency in processes of transnational environmental regulation. This involves investigating policies and practices of labour unions on green transitions at various scales, from global to local, focussing on the interactions of unions, companies, NGOs and law and policy makers.
I also carry out research on equality, diversity and inclusion in the production of the built environment, with a specific emphasis on how these issues interest with the green transition. I recently completed a study on gender equality in the construction, wood and forestry industries.
