About me
I have a PhD in Spatial Planning, and a MSc in Environmental Science and my undergraduate degree was in geography and biology as part of a BSc in Natural Sciences. Before joining the university, I was at the University of Lincoln and prior to that, at Dublin Institute of Technology.
My research interests are varied but tend to be in the field of outdoor and rural tourism and recreation; community planning; participation in planning and geographical information systems.

Teaching
I lecture on the undergraduate and postgraduate tourism programmes, mainly in the area of sustainable development and responsible tourism. I'm also involved in introductory tourism modules, research methods and tourism policy as well as dissertation supervision.
Research
I am part of the tourism research group. My current research focuses on the value/benefits of outdoor activity to the individual, and on teaching and learning aspects of tourism studies.
