About me
I am a lecturer in both Italian and Intercultural Communication. Since 2008, I have also been the Italian Coordinator for Polylang, part of the Westminster Language Centre. Before joining the University of Westminster I worked extensively as an Italian language teacher in several other UK institutions including universities (UCL and London Metropolitan), private companies and language schools. I have a particular interest in the ways in which Intercultural Communication and language teaching are related. I am also passionate about film, and how it can help to deepen cultural understanding. I hold an MA in Sociology of Contemporary Culture (University of York) and a BA in English Literature (University of North London). I gained my Certificate in Italian Language Teaching to Adults (CLTA) from International House, London, in 1999.
Teaching
I joined the University of Westminster in 2001 as an Italian lecturer and am now the coordinator for the Italian Polylang team. In this role I am responsible for the delivery and assessment of Italian language courses from beginner to advanced level, as well as for the development of our online programme. I also teach Intercultural Communication.
