Cancer Mechanisms and Biomarkers research group

About the group

The Cancer Mechanisms and Biomarkers Research Group (formally known as the Cancer Research Group) within the Centre for Optimal Health is based in the University of Westminster's School of Life Sciences. The research group focuses on detection, prevention, molecular mechanisms, and investigation of new biomarkers for cancer. Studies are undertaken at the genetic and epigenetic, transcriptomic and proteomic levels. Molecular modeling of protein ligand interactions are performed in collaboration with the Centre for Parallel Computing. Novel platforms for studying tumour characteristics and responsiveness to treatment are available in the group.
