Business and Organisational Psychology MSc – 2023

The support and understanding I’ve received from each lecturer have been amazing.

Why did you choose the University of Westminster?

I was quite happy with the support I was given during my three years as a BSc student at the University of Westminster. I was impressed with the university and how quickly teachers responded to my emails and questions. I was also very comfortable with the campuses and their structure - which makes it easy to find my way around, especially on Open Days and on my first day at the university. Additionally, I was offered an Alumni discount for studying a Master’s degree. This appealed to me as I was able to manage my finances more effectively.

How has your experience been studying in London?

Studying in London is a privileged and unique, multicultural experience. It has taught me to be patient as well as broadened my knowledge about other cultures.

What have you particularly enjoyed about your course?

I have particularly enjoyed the on-campus lessons on Fridays for my MSc degree. Although they last for quite long, our lecturers make sure to include lots of physical and creative activities that are related to the lessons. I really enjoyed learning how to improve my consultancy skills whilst working in a group. Understanding the needs of individuals in a group and how to make group work more efficient are important to me. It was certainly one of the most demanding and challenging experiences I’ve had at the university. Nevertheless, throughout the semester, I have learned a lot about myself and my personality, which further adds to the knowledge I have gained from the course.

How have you found academic support as part of your studies?

The specific support and understanding I’ve received from each lecturer have been amazing. I was offered lots of meetings outside lessons so they can check on my progress and if I’m having any difficulties.

Tell us about any activities that you have undertaken outside of your course

Outside of university, I am involved in professionally coaching multiple gymnasts who have been selected as part of the GB national team. One of the gymnasts is currently undergoing demanding preparations to compete and qualify for the next Olympic Games.  Moreover, I have participated in multiple national competitions for rhythmic gymnastics, including the British Championships, where I successfully obtained five gold medals. Coaching and mentoring children and young adults has been one of my main interests - ever since I became an athlete myself. Aside from gymnastics, I also enjoy teaching ballet and dance at a professional level since it challenges my creativity.

What would your advice be to someone considering studying at Westminster?

Do not feel anxious or troubled by sharing your problems with others at this university- there is lots of support available. All lecturers are understanding and have a strong desire to make you into a better student. They are always helpful in solving such issues.

What's the best aspect of being a University of Westminster student?

The timetable for students has been very well organised, especially during the first 3 years of my BSc programme. I once had some issues attending seminars due to my working hours and explained it to my course leader. They moved me to other sessions immediately, so I can attend regularly, and they kept this in mind all 3 years.

What was the most surprising or unexpected aspect of your Westminster experience?

A lot of international students studying at Westminster are from very diverse and unique backgrounds.
