Fashion Marketing and Promotion BA – 2024

What I love about this course is how dynamic it is, offering an amazing opportunity to explore a wide range of subjects within the fashion industry from a cultural, economic and political view. As you look into various topics, you not only discover what truly interests you in the industry, but you also end up learning more about yourself as an individual and uncovering your own capabilities along the way.

Why did you choose the University of Westminster?

I was looking for a London-based university that offered fashion marketing-related courses. I discovered the University of Westminster and to my delight, they offered an incredibly interesting fashion marketing and promotion course. The course covered a diverse range of subjects, which was incredibly beneficial as I was still undecided on my exact career path within the fashion industry. 

How has your experience been studying in London?

London has always been my dream city to study in. Coming from a relatively small country, I was thrilled to be in a place with such an amazing mix of people and so much to explore. Being in an extremely vibrant environment allowed me to meet so many incredible individuals and immerse myself in various experiences. These encounters taught me valuable life lessons and opened my eyes, resulting in a positive change in my views and knowledge.

What have you particularly enjoyed about your course?

How have you found academic support as part of your studies?

The lecturers have been extremely friendly and enthusiastic.  They are willing to assist with any questions or concerns while also creating opportunities for us, the students, to easily get in touch with them. Additionally, they create a warm and supportive learning environment, encouraging open discussions and providing valuable feedback. 

Are there any stand-out facilities associated with your course?

The photography studios and equipment are fantastic. The library is another great facility, with numerous learning spaces and a wide range of resources for studying.

Have you used the University Careers and Employability Service? 

I used the Careers and Employability Service to help me look for internship opportunities. The service was very useful and constantly kept me informed about new opportunities.

Tell us about any activities that you have undertaken outside of your course (e.g. course related trips, study abroad, sports clubs, societies and any competitions)?

Students at Westminster have access to a variety of societies. I chose to join a society that offers an incredible opportunity for indoor rock climbing. As part of my course, we have gone on interesting trips.such as visits to exhibitions, which were extremely thrilling and eye-opening experiences.

What would your advice be to someone considering studying at Westminster?

Be courageous, explore as much as you can, take what the university offers you, and say "yes" to more things!

What's the best aspect of being a University of Westminster student?

Living in London and having the opportunity to fully experience being a student in a multi-cultural city and having access to multiple learning resources.

What was the most surprising or unexpected aspect of your Westminster experience?

Initially, I expected that the course I had chosen was going to be highly competitive but, to my surprise, I discovered that my course mates were incredibly genuine and supportive individuals which made my learning experience more enjoyable.
