The University of Westminster Climate Change, Energy Policy and Sustainability Research Group and the Climate and Energy Policy Lab present an online discussion on the impact of the Russia-Ukraine war on energy security.
About the speakers
Dr James Henderson
Dr James Henderson is Director of Energy Transition Research and Chairman of the Natural Gas Programme at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies (OIES), and he has been writing for and working with the Institute since 2010. He is also a Visiting Professor at Masaryk University in the Czech Republic and at the College of Europe in Natolin, Warsaw, and has lectured on energy economics and security of supply at a number of universities in Europe and the US. He has worked in the oil sector for US company Amerada Hess, as well as spending time as a consultant and investment banker. He obtained a PhD in Social Sciences from London University in 2010.
Dr Aura Sabadus
Dr Aura Sabadus is a senior energy journalist and a research fellow of the Energy Community. She works for ICIS, a global energy and petrochemicals news and data provider, where she focuses on issues related to energy market liberalisation, regulation, natural gas transit and geopolitical rsk. She holds a PhD in International Relations from King’s College London.
Dr Marco Siddi
Dr Marco Siddi is Montalcini Assistant Professor at the University of Cagliari (Italy), Senior Fellow at the Finnish Institute of International Affairs and Adjunct Professor at the Universities of Helsinki and Tampere. He focuses primarily on EU-Russia relations, EU energy and climate policy, and the politics of memory and identity. He is a member of the Younger Generation Leaders Network on Euro-Atlantic Security.
