The University of Westminster wishes a very happy Rosh Hashanah to all colleagues, students, alumni and friends celebrating from Friday evening.

Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year, meaning “head of the year” or “first of the year”. It is the first of the Jewish High Holy Days.

Rosh Hashanah commemorates the creation of the world and marks the beginning of the Days of Awe, a 10-day period of introspection and repentance that culminates in the Yom Kippur holiday, the second High Holy Day in the Jewish religion.

The celebrations this year begin on the evening of Friday 15 September and will end on Sunday 17 September.

L'Shana Tovah tikatevu to all of our colleagues, students, alumni and community members celebrating.
