We wish a very happy Christmas and New Year to all colleagues, alumni and friends who are celebrating.
Christmas is a religious and cultural celebration commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, who, according to the Christian religion, is the son of God. It is observed in the Western Christian church on 25 December each year and is a public holiday in many countries. In most Christian churches, the Christmas season lasts for 12 days and culminates on Twelfth Night and the Feast of the Epiphany, which marks the start of Epiphanytide and is celebrated by Christians and many non-Christians.
New year is the time or day on which a new calendar year begins. New year begins on the 1 January, New Year’s Day, preceded by New Year’s Eve.
We wish a very happy Christmas and New Year to all of our students, colleagues, alumni and friends who are celebrating the holiday.
