Google Classic Sites will be phased out by December 2021. All existing Classic Sites will need to be migrated to the new Google Sites app by June 2021.
If you are an owner (administrator) of an active site, you will need to migrate your site’s contents to the new Google Sites format to avoid disruption for collaborators and viewers. We recommend you migrate your site as soon as possible. Site owners also need to ensure that the site complies with Digital Accessibility guidelines.
Find the guidance on how to migrate your site.
There are a number of sites that do not have an owner actively managing the site. From 1 July, inactive sites will no longer be available. Please contact the IT Service Desk if you require access to an inactive site.
Digital Accessibility
The University is committed to ensuring that all websites and content we publish are available to everyone to improve the experience for all users, as well as making sure that individuals with disabilities can gain equal access. It is the site owner’s responsibility to ensure that the site is digitally accessible.
Site owners are required to include a link to the University of Westminster Accessibility Statement for Websites on the Google Sites Domain on the site.
Read the Google guidelines on how to make your Google site digitally accessible.
