It is Women’s History Month in March and the University continues to celebrate women’s achievements and taking action on equality with this year’s theme being “Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories”.

Diverse women standing

Throughout the month, a number of events are being held at Westminster, including talks by inspirational women, innovative and thought-provoking discussions, and good news stories.

International Women’s Day

March is marked by International Women’s Day taking place on Wednesday 8 March with this year’s theme being "EmbraceEquity”.

Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women's equality. Collectively we can all #EmbraceEquity. Celebrate women's achievement. Raise awareness about discrimination. Take action to drive gender parity.

Equity isn't just a nice-to-have, it's a must-have. A focus on gender equity needs to be part of every society's DNA. And it's critical to understand the difference between equity and equality.

For International Women's Day and beyond, let's all fully #EmbraceEquity.
