We’re carrying out major roof and refurbishment work at 309 Regent Street and 4-12 Little Titchfield Street to enhance and protect our historic buildings – and to create warmer, more sustainable campus environments for our students and colleagues.
Regent Street
Major roof work is planned for Regent Street – with scaffolding due to be installed in June 2023, and the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2024. During this time, a protective dressing will cover the front façade of the building.
The programme of work is designed to repair the roof comprehensively, ensuring it is watertight and fit for the future. Sustainability upgrades will be made, including the installation of solar panels and improved insulation – bringing our Regent Street roof up to modern standards and delivering a warmer, more environmentally friendly building.
The building façade and its historic features will also be refreshed, and new, energy-efficient external lighting will be put in place to highlight and enhance the building’s appearance at night.
Little Titchfield Street
Roof repairs and window upgrades to upper levels and adjoining balconies will be carried out at Little Titchfield Street – with scaffolding expected to be installed in the week commencing Monday 17th April. The programme of work is due to be completed by August 2023.
More information
Both buildings will remain open while work takes place, and our Estates team will work closely with our contractor to minimise disruption during this time. Students, colleagues and visitors will also be given clear updates while the work is carried out.
Thanks for your understanding while we carry out this important work, which is part of our broader strategy to improve the thermal efficiency of our campuses, and reduce our carbon emissions – and which follows projects such as the recent window replacement work at Wells Street.
