The survey is designed to gain further insight into students’ development during their time at Westminster – it helps to guide us in how we further develop and signpost student resources for personal and professional development.

Initial findings

When completed during each year of undergraduate study, the survey is designed to track each student’s year-to-year progress. In our analysis, we have compared the results of Level 4 and Level 6 students to give a sense of emerging trends:

  • The survey explored 48 statements, grouped into eleven themes relating to core skills and professional development.
  • Using scales from Strongly Agree to Disagree Strongly, respondents were asked to self-report their view of the statements.
  • When looking at the average % agreement for all respondents, scores for 10 of the 11 themes rose in the TiSS 2024.
  • Compared to Level 4 students, Level 6 students’ average scores were higher in 8 of the 11 areas, indicating the added value of studying at Westminster on aspects such as Life Skills (+5.9%), Confidence (+12.9), Leadership/Teamwork (+9.9%), and Valued Friendships (+7.1%).
