This new award is aimed at fostering creative responses to climate change and environmental issues and celebrating student creativity.
Open to all current Westminster students across degree programmes, campuses, and levels, the Diving Bell Prize seeks exciting writing that engages with ongoing conversations around climate change, our relationship with the world around us, and the issues, events and challenges that we face and create.
Students are invited to submit up to three poems, each up to 40 lines long, to [email protected] by 11:59pm (UK time) on Friday 31 January 2025.
The winners will receive: £150 for first place, £75 for second, and £25 for third. In addition, the winning and shortlisted poems will be featured in a new anthology, and poets will be invited to a prize reading in Semester Two.
The competition's judges will include Hannah Copley, Lucy Bond, Atef Alshaer, Simon Avery.
