The latest Student Voice Forum, held on Wednesday 22 March, brought together colleagues and student representatives to talk about key issues affecting students and to work together to action important changes.
Items discussed at the forum include:
- An update on the Digital Student Hub Project
- Feedback provided by students during February’s Academic Feedback Week, including on teaching quality and course enjoyment
- A request for further collaboration between students in different courses and schools, in order to build networks and work creatively throughout schools and colleges.
Colleagues who attended the forum took away actions to work on, with the aim to update the School Representatives ahead of the next forum taking place in June.
Some actions taken away by colleagues include:
- Looking into the possibility of expanding the ‘WeNetwork’ programme to facilitate more creative collaboration between schools and courses
- Investigating issues with recording online attendance
- Creating a sub-committee to get ideas from School Representatives on how to resolve issues with assignment ‘bunching’ (when lots of assignments are due around the same time).
The next Student Voice Forum is due to take place on 7 June.
If you would like to raise any issues or share feedback ahead of the next meeting, please speak with your course or school reps so that these can get passed on and looked into by colleagues.
