Sharing your pronouns in Microsoft 365

Thanks to collaboration with our Q+ Network and the Information, Systems and Support (ISS) team, you can now add your pronouns to your profile cards in Microsoft 365.

These profile cards are visible in applications such as Microsoft Teams and Outlook, and they can be viewed internally by your fellow students, lecturers and guest accounts. Please note that your pronouns will not be visible to external users outside of our organisation.

Sharing your pronouns is an important step toward creating a more inclusive space where everyone feels welcome and respected. It allows individuals to express both gendered and non-gendered identities safely, helping to reduce unintentional microaggressions.

While we encourage sharing pronouns, it is entirely voluntary, and there is no pressure to participate. You have full control over this feature – you can add, update, or remove your pronouns at any time. Please ensure that this feature is used with respect, as we condone any misuse and this does not align with our values.

How to update your profile

Full guidance on how you can update your profile and where pronouns will be displayed is shown in the document below.
