Last year, we had a fantastic line up of festival events, including a diversity fashion show; a panel discussion on the current status of Black Lives Matter post George Floyd; and a session hosting traditional board games, amongst many others.
The festival highlighted our connection with Westminster’s global community, as well as with our local area. There were also multiple language - and internationally oriented sessions, and events featuring faith, spirituality and belief at the University. Our Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Colleague Networks were centre stage at the festival.
Our University is one of the most diverse in the UK, with colleagues and students from a huge range of cultural, linguistic and global backgrounds. This helps to drive our deep-seated commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion. We aspire to making the World in Westminster festival a shining beacon of this commitment.
Last year, we asked our community what World in Westminster means to them.
This year, building on last, we want to use the festival to help grow and build community across the University and to celebrate and showcase cultural and global diversity and inclusion at Westminster.
About the festival
The festival will run across one week, from Monday 6 March to Friday 10 March 2023. It will run at several locations, including Marylebone, Regent Street and Cavendish campuses and online. It will shine a light on our engagement with diversity, inclusion and internationalisation, richly evidenced through our colleague and student networks, societies and communities.
Come and immerse yourself in this celebration with us!
