These new devices will provide all the current functionality with new features due to be released in the future.

Based on the current print and copy usages of the current devices, we have reduced the number of devices in some locations to reduce costs and our carbon footprint.

The rollout of the print devices will be as follows:

  • Regent Street: 11 and 12 March
  • 115 New Cavendish Street: 15 to 19 March
  • 120 New Cavendish Street: 18 and 19 March
  • Wells Street: 15 March
  • Harrow: 22 to 29 March
  • Marylebone: 29 March to 1 April
  • Little Titchfield Street: 30 and 31 March

As part of the Ricoh MFD deployment, we will be releasing new print queues to University managed Mac and PC Windows machines.

Windows machines

The new Windows print queue will be called WMIN-PRINT. This queue will be installed on all PCs but will not be set as the default queue.  If your campus has Ricoh devices, manually select this queue when you want to print to a Ricoh print device. Once the Ricoh deployment is complete throughout the University, WMIN-PRINT will be set as the default queue. Whilst there are Kyocera devices on your campus, please use the current print queue installed on your machine.

Mac Machines

The new Mac print queue will be called WMIN-PRINT-MAC. This queue will be installed on all machines and will also be available in apps@westminster. Whilst there are Kyocera devices on your campus, please use the current print queue installed on your machine.

Webprint

Webprint currently shows 8 print queues for the Kyocera devices. From 11 March, Webprint will also show the print queues for the new Ricoh print devices. Please select the relevant queues for the devices on your campus.

Once the deployment of the Ricoh devices is complete, the Kyocera queues will be removed from Webprint.
