From Monday 27 March, the University will be rolling out multi-factor authentication (MFA) to help make your student account more secure.

Multi-factor authentication

What is MFA?

You’re probably already familiar with MFA, as it’s used by a lot of retailers and businesses – for example, when your bank texts you a code to process an online payment.

On 27 March, when you log in to your university account, you’ll be prompted to follow a short set of instructions to set up MFA. It’s simple to do and will add an extra layer of security to your University account.

If you want to set up your MFA account before 27 March, you can. Simply follow the instructions set out on the Student Hub MFA page.

What if you need help?

All the information you need to register early, as well as FAQs, can be found on the Student Hub MFA page. If you need further assistance, please raise a ticket with the IT Service Desk, and a member of the team will help you directly.
