Protect yourself and our community from measles

With cases of measles currently on the rise in the UK, the NHS is urging people who haven’t already been fully vaccinated to get their two jabs as soon as possible.

Measles is a highly infectious virus that can cause serious illness. The main symptoms of measles are a fever and a rash, but it can cause more serious complications.

With cases currently on the rise in the UK, the NHS is urging anyone who hasn’t yet been vaccinated to get two doses of the Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) vaccine to protect themselves and others.

If you haven’t been vaccinated against MMR, or are unsure, please check with your doctor and arrange an appointment as soon as possible to get the vaccine.

Anyone who requires Priorix® (gelatine free) MMR vaccine can request this from their GP or healthcare provider. This vaccine is widely available.

If you have recently moved to London for your studies, it is important that you register with a local General Practitioner (GP) doctor, so that you have easy access to healthcare when you need it.
