National Careers Week 2021

As a reminder to all students, the Careers and Employability Service (CES) at the University of Westminster, continues to support students and graduates. Here are some highlights of what the CES team has carried out over last twelve months.

Employability inductions

The Careers and Employability Service (CES) have created a series of video clips about the resources, schemes and support available and tailored to your level of studies.
Each clip provides guidance on what you should be taking advantage of, such as the Mentoring scheme, the Westminster Employability Award, expert advice on CVs, placements and much more.

Talent Bank

Talent Bank members have exclusive access to apply to paid job opportunities within the University, as well as to gain experience in applying for roles, attending interviews and more. This year the introduction of support sessions helped students understand how to make a good application and learn about how to provide structured answers in interviews. (Currently closed for new registrations until the new academic year).

The Westminster Employability Award

The Westminster Employability Award is an employability achievement award that helps you understand your strengths and weaknesses, so you can build confidence while studying your degree.

Through completing a range of activities on the award, you will gain experience and develop key skills that employers look for. The award continues to be updated with new activities throughout the year giving students more opportunities to help them become more employable.

For final year students, there is still time to complete the award before the 1 May deadline as most activities can be completed online and activities you may have completed earlier in your studies may also count towards the award.

CES resources open to all students to help with gaining virtual experience, learning about what employers look for in potential employees and help with preparing for interviews.
