LGBTQ+ History Month at Westminster – learn the history and celebrate with our inclusive community

At Westminster, we celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month in February with a range of events led by our Q+ Network, Students’ Union, Black History Year Programme and many more. 

The 2025 theme for LGBTQ+ History Month is Activism and Social Change, which celebrates the work of LGBTQ+ people who have helped create social change.

Kobi Essah Ayensuo and Jimmie Daniels talk about Black Queer archives and unearthing Jimmie Daniels', art, life and performance.

Connect with others in the LGBTQ+ community and allies for an evening filled with fun, reflection and vibrant celebrations.

Kobi Essah Ayensuo will run an exclusively designed creative writing workshop for Westminster Students focusing on queerness, ancestry and world-building.

Kobi Essah Ayensuo and Jimmie Daniels residency continues with performances of ‘We Were Here, We Are Here’: A Love Song to Black Queer Lives, Performance, Art + Ancestry.

A screening of Jean Genets Un Chant D'Amour and a panel discussion led by Westminster's Pippa Catterall.

The evening will be hosted by celebrated drag king Don One. This is an opportunity to come along and share your creativity, uniqueness, nerve and talent on stage, or just sit back and watch if you prefer.

National Student Pride is the UK’s biggest LGBTQ+ student event, made for students and run by students. The weekend includes iconic performances, on-stage celebrity interviews and the unmissable largest LGBTQ+ careers fair in the UK.
