We’re adding multi-factor authentication (MFA) to all Google accounts to help keep your account secure.

This is a security feature you’re already familiar with when you access other university online systems.

MFA will be activated for all accounts on Wednesday, 31 July. After this date, you will be prompted to validate MFA every two weeks or when you use a new device or web browser to access your Google account.

It is important to remember that the Google platform and your chosen authenticator app, (e.g., Microsoft Authenticator), use different usernames.

To access your Google account, you will continue to use your_username@my.westminster.ac.uk, and to authenticate that account, you need to use [email protected].

Step one

Log in to your University Google account using [email protected]

Step two

When presented with the MFA login screen, enter [email protected] (do not use @my.westminster.ac.uk)
