Our academic regulations govern the vast majority of our taught courses and help to ensure consistency in our quality and academic standards.

Regulation 4.4.1 in the Undergraduate Framework and regulation 18.73 Postgraduate Framework have now been amended to clarify that module marks displayed on transcripts and other records of achievement will display the whole number.

This update has been made following a technical issue which meant that accurate module marks were not being displayed on the transcript to students.

The previous regulations stated:

“Module marks will not be rounded. The absolute module mark, to the maximum number of decimal places calculated and recorded by the student record system, will be used in the calculation of the award classification. However, for the purposes of transcripts and other records of student achievement, the published module mark will be rounded to the nearest integer.” (Emphasis added)

The revised approved regulations now states:

“Module marks will not be rounded. The absolute module mark, to the maximum number of decimal places calculated and recorded by the student record system, will be used in the calculation of the award classification. For the purposes of transcripts and other records of student achievement, the published module mark will display the whole number and not decimal places.” (Emphasis added)
