The Explore Teaching scheme offers students and recent graduates the opportunity to complete a 15-day placement within a school or college setting, enabling you to explore a career in teaching.
About the scheme
Applications are now open for the autumn 2023 intake of the Explore Teaching Scheme, with placements taking place between September and December 2023.
Placements are voluntary and usually completed on a part-time basis.
The deadline for applications is midnight on Sunday 21 May. You can find out more about the scheme and submit your applications via the Explore Teaching webpage.
Upon successful completion of the scheme, the Explore Teaching team will provide you with a letter of reference, which can be used in support of future applications to Teacher Training courses or employment within the education sector.
The scheme is open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as recent graduates of the last three years. Applications are welcome from international students, as well as those taking a work-based and placement learning module during the 2023-24 academic year.
Information session
We will also be running an Information and Application Support session for anyone who is interested in this scheme later this month. This will take place via BB Collaborate on Wednesday 26 April from 2-3pm. Students can sign up for the session via Engage.
We will open applications again in the autumn term, with successful applicants undertaking their placements in spring and summer 2024.
