The Explore Teaching scheme offers students and recent graduates the opportunity to complete a 15-day placement within a school or college setting, enabling them to explore a career in teaching.
Placements are voluntary and usually completed on a part-time basis.
Applications for placements taking place between mid-September 2025 and the end of February 2026 are now open.
Application deadline: 7 April 2025.

Information session
We will also be running an Information and Application Support session for those of you who are interested on Tuesday 25 March 2025 between 1-2pm. You can sign up for the session via Engage.
How does it help?
Upon successful completion of the scheme, the Explore Teaching team will provide you with a letter of reference, which can be used in support of future applications to Teacher Training courses or employment within the education sector.
The scheme is open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as recent graduates of the last 3 years. Applications are welcome from international students, as well as those taking a work-based and placement learning module during the 2025/26 academic year.
