Don't miss our World in Westminster Festival

Our World in Westminster Festival is back next week with a dynamic lineup of events organised by colleagues and students.

About our festival

Dates: Monday 26 February to Friday 1 March

The World in Westminster festival is open to everyone, within and beyond the University.

Each day will focus on a different strand from our Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) strategy. These are culture, communication, expression, vision and belonging.

Events schedule:

Monday 26 February: Culture

  • University of Westminster Students' Union Cultural Fair – Marylebone Campus, 12-4pm (no need to book)

Find your community at UWSU with over 30 cultural societies. Talk to our student leaders and find out about the amazing activities they will be doing this term and how you can get involved.

This gathering promises to be a stimulating conversation, covering racial and cultural dynamics embedded within the anime realm.

This event brings together three academics to discuss this question and draw upon their collective expertise on questions of race, cultural politics, and exclusion.

Tuesday 27 February: Communication

We will be discussing the beauty of being bilingual, the value of multiculturalism and why it is the cause for a celebration.

Wednesday 28 February: Expression

Come along to Area 51 - our gig space, for an inspiring and entertaining evening of musical performances from around the world.

Thursday 29 February: Vision

Whether you are part of LAS or DCDI or are just passionate about celebrating UOW's local and global diversity, come along to a special WIW Cafe event with food, fun and music from around the globe.

Friday 1 March: Belonging

This event offers an insight into building societies that support the wellbeing of all members, reduce exclusion and marginalisation and foster a sense of belonging and security.

This event brings together students, academics and support colleagues to celebrate our diversity through Westminster’s Worldwide representation, shared food dishes, music and community.

This celebration will feature live music, cultural dance performances, free food, drinks and much more.
