The Academic Skills summer term sessions are currently available online.
The Academic Skills summer term sessions are now available online. The workshops are on academic writing and study skills, with several workshops on dissertation writing. Both the Learning Advisers and the Academic Liaison Librarians are also running regular Q&A sessions. Download the full programme.
All sessions are delivered ONLINE using Blackboard Collaborate. You can book the sessions via Engage.
You may also find useful our academic skills online support page, which includes links to our online appointments, workshops, and resources (guides, workshop recordings, LinkedIn learning).
What are online teaching sessions?
These are sessions where you participate remotely using the Collaborate platform via Blackboard. During the online workshops, a Learning Adviser or Academic Liaison Librarian will present a topic. During both workshops and Q&As you will have the opportunity to interact and ask our tutors questions through the chat. The workshops will be recorded, and the recordings will be sent to the participants.
What do you need?
A device with audio capabilities connected to the internet. You may require headphones if you are in a public place. You do not need a microphone, as you can communicate with the facilitator only through the chat.
What happens next?
Book and save the link of the session (the link will also be sent in the email you will receive to confirm your booking). You will be able to join the session 15 minutes before the start time. It’s best to log on at least 10 minutes before the start of the session to check that your computer is set up for the workshop.
