Join us for the first time at the University of Westminster to celebrate Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead!
About this event
This event invites you to experience the rich traditions of this beloved Mexican holiday, where life and death are joyfully remembered. While the holiday originated in Mexico - it is celebrated all over Latin America. Day of the Dead is a time for families and communities to come together and honour their loved ones who have passed away. Enjoy an evening of colourful altars, traditional music, dance, and delicious Mexican treats.
Open to all students, colleagues, and community members, this event offers a unique opportunity to connect through culture, music, and shared experiences. Whether you have roots in the tradition or are experiencing it for the first time, join us in the celebration.
The World in Westminster series is part of the QHT EDI Project, “Westminster for All - Equity, Inclusion and Belonging” sponsored by Deputy Vice-Chancellor Dibyesh Anand in collaboration with International Student Champions and the Students' Union. The series, after nine successful events in 2023–2024, is currently running for the second year. We have run brilliant and inclusive festival events for all, including Diwali, Hannukkah, Yalda Night, Nowruz, Ramadan and Passover.
