About the speaker
Rituja Rao (Journalism BA, 2018), Management Consultant, Capo
Rituja Rao is an award-winning IT Consultant and emerging thought leader in the UK tech industry, with a background in financial services and digital transformation. After graduating with a degree in Journalism, she immediately made a career change breaking into technology without any formal tech education.
She is currently a Management Consultant specialising in Tech Delivery at Capco, having previously successfully delivered multi-million-pound digital transformation projects for banking clients. Rituja is an industry speaker, passionate about graduate careers in tech regardless of STEM degrees, diversity and inclusion and career management. She is a strong advocate of skills diversity in tech organisations.
Rituja is currently mentoring other young people, empowering young girls to pursue a career in tech. She is a tech careers panellist, volunteering her time speaking at schools across the UK. Rituja is also an ex-Trustee for a UK based women's charity and actively advocates for younger people to start their board careers. Her latest venture is a new YouTube channel and a community called Gen-We, focussing on skills diversity and mental health during early careers.
Rituja is the Winner of the Future Stars of Tech: IT Manager award 2020 and TechWomen100 Awards by We Are The City, and was nominated as the Digital Hero of the Year at the Computing Digital Technology Awards 2019. She was also named a 'Rising Star' on the Women in FinTech Powerlist 2020 by Innovate Finance.
