About the event
The upcoming 7th Annual DEN International Student Conference, to be held at the University of Westminster, aims to draw attention to crucial topics concerning sustainable development, inclusivity, and education across various domains and specialties. This conference presents an opportunity to engage in insightful dialogue surrounding forwardthinking concepts and approaches that can encourage us to unite as a collective of diverse communities and individuals in tackling pressing global development and environmental issues.
Where we are today is a product of our past, and where we will be tomorrow will be shaped by what we do today. Are the students of today prepared to meet the global challenges conditioning our lives? Can we speak of Sustainable Development without Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, or vice versa?
Submission of papers is open to students from universities, colleges and schools from across the world. Please send in your 200 word abstract by the 16th of April, 2024 to: [email protected]
*While contributions are invited from students from all different disciplines on any subject relating to the topic, we especially invite papers on the following thematic issues: Contested meanings of Sustainable Development/ Inequities and Inequalities/ Local, National, Regional, International, Global/ Public health/ Gender, Race and/or Development/ Climate Crisis/ Protests, Social Justice and Environmental Challenges/ Migration, Refugees, Citizenships/ Technology and Creativity/ Imperialism and Postcolonialism/ Youth Activism and media
What is DEN? We are the Democratic Education Network, a student-focused initiative at the University of Westminster. We work together to make students more locally and globally engaged, acquire transferable skills that empower them and enhance their employability and awareness of diverse communities: read more on the DEN blog.
