Join us for the 2021 GVA Demo Day, an informal, informative and celebratory event where six businesses incubated by the Graduate Venture Accelerator programme will showcase their businesses, pitch, and compete for £5,000 in funding supported by Santander Universities UK.
The event will take place online, with each startup pitching for 5 minutes followed by 5 minutes of Q&A with the judge’s panel. The judges will select and award the winners: 1st Place - £3,500 and 2nd Place - £1,500.
We welcome everyone to join us, whether a student, alumni, staff, industry partner, family, friends and the general public. This event offers an opportunity to unwind, network and meet the businesses on the GVA programme, all of them founded by the University of Westminster Graduates & Alumni.
What is a Demo Day?
A Demo Day is a startup industry term for a showcase, presentation or demonstration of the businesses participating in an accelerator or incubator programme. It involves the founders of the business/startups pitching their businesses to an audience, typically investors - in the hope to secure investment.
There will be investors in the judging panel and prize funding up for grabs.
What is the Graduate Venture Accelerator Programme?
The Graduate Venture Accelerator Programme is a 12 to 24 month structured and intensive business support programme for graduates with viable startup concepts or post-revenue businesses.
The programme accelerates the entrepreneurial development of the founders and growth of their businesses through monthly mentoring, exclusive workshops and expert advice, designated free co-working space and membership of a network of mentors and like-minded peers on similar entrepreneurial journeys.
To join the programme, graduates who have completed an undergraduate, postgraduate or research degree course at the University of Westminster apply via an extensive application process that examines the potential of their businesses to develop into viable, innovative and scalable businesses.
