The event
We Create Space describes the training session this way:
"A live conversation exploring how we can use our own personal stories to find power, purpose and drive wider social change within our organisations, communities and beyond.
If we think of our values as the guardrails for how we live our life (make decisions, act, and react), then purpose functions more as a north star, as one overarching, ultimate goal that guides us. Purpose is like setting your own long-term strategy of what you’d like to achieve in life. We find purpose in the stories we tell ourselves and others. Within our organisations, the stories we choose to tell can shape our experience and our legacy. To drive change forward it is essential to make purpose personal – and dive into who are as individuals – but also collective – bringing together our values, strengths, and power.
During this session, we’ll explore how understanding our own narrative and purpose enables us to drive impact with purpose in our organisations, communities and wider society. Our guest speakers will be sharing their inspiring stories and unique lived experience through the lens of their different LGBTQ+ intersecting identities. Attendees hope to gain some insight and perspective as well as some practical advice around creating more positive influence and impact in the world."
