Startup 101: Introduction to Intellectual Property Rights

This will help participants in the early stages of thinking about IP in relation to setting up and operating their company and also, if they have already set up their company, how to understand the legal issues surrounding IP and the dos and don’ts of IP.

The session will cover key concepts of company law to help participants understand more about how to think about IP in terms of their founder IP, company value proposition, branding, websites, apps and IP protection for the business.

Participants will understand the importance of IP from a legal perspective and also how to ensure that their IP protection is properly obtained and protected under law.

All participants will come away with a much better understanding of IP, how it operates in practice and how they can use IP to protect their ideas and business. They will also understand more about how they can use IP so as to make their business more attractive to investors and also people who want to do business with the company.
