About the event

Join us at New Cavendish campus for UoW’s free Dr Bike and police marking event. Bring along your bike to have your bike ‘serviced’ by a qualified bike mechanic and security-marked.

The operation of gears, brakes, tyre pressure and more can be assessed and fixed on the day if needed. For repairs that need additional work, the mechanics can provide detailed advice on what needs fixing and how much it should cost at the local bike shop. Police security marking acts as a visible deterrent to bike thieves. If your bike is stolen, ownership can be traced and the thief will be arrested. Both activities will mean you can use your bike more securely and for longer.

Cycling is an excellent way to sustainably travel to and from campus, as demonstrated by SDG 3: Good Health and Wellbeing and SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. By encouraging the use of bicycles as a safe and effective mode of travel to the university, we hope to reach our net-zero carbon emissions target by 2050. Visit the Westminster Sustainable Development page for more information.

This event is being organised in collaboration with the Fitzrovia Partnership who help support local businesses within the community to enact change. The event will be accessible to members of the public. If you have any queries about this event, please email [email protected].
